      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

As single-mindedly focused on mayhem as its demonic monster, In a Violent Nature serves up a deliciously disgusting feast for gore aficionados.

Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It's a really interesting visual stunt for a while, but the problem here is that the plot is just as dumb as all the other [slashers]. Jun 15, 2024 Full Review Sergio Burstein Los Angeles Times It is impossible not to admire the audacity that Nash had in creating an unusual and even experimental production that cannot be appreciated with indifference. [Full review in Spanish] Jun 12, 2024 Full Review Rich Juzwiak Slate Like a swift axe to the skull, In a Violent Nature is blunt and makes no excuses for itself. How refreshing. Jun 8, 2024 Full Review Nestor Bentancor Nestor Cine Desde Hollywood Instead of injecting new life into the horror genre, this subpar genre exercise is a dull photocopy of a dead nature. [Full Review in Spanish] Jun 16, 2024 Full Review Joseph Robinson Fish Jelly Films (YouTube) In A Violent Nature has a novel[ish] idea that runs out of steam well before the tedious conclusion. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 13, 2024 Full Review Brian Bisesi Horror Movie Club Podcast The film’s perspective shift creates a quiet, dread-filled character study. The movie reckons with the fact that the main draw of a slasher has always been the villain, and all else is irrelevant. Oddly, the vapid plot feels integral to that reckoning. punchmadeAyE Movie is trash acting is bad , practically just walking through out the whole movie and plot is wack Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/17/24 Full Review Logan a very unique yet familiar slasher movie and a great time for fans of things like Friday the 13th Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review Taylor B If you drained all the wit & charm from a Hatchet movie, you'd be left with In a Violent Nature. Good practical effects, but that's it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review Yeraldin J completely twisted!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/24 Full Review Humpty Jackson This movie neglected, neigh refused, to make any of their characters interesting! They kept almost introducing us to interesting characters, like the Park Ranger, only to have him misplace his brain and then get mercilessly dunked on! What an idiot! They were all idiots though. Instead of making the characters smart and the killer smarter they just made everyone flat and dumb. This movie set itself up so well. Its beautifully shot and its an awesome premise, but the characters ruin it. And the worst part is that its all the creators fault. They could have easily written the characters with more depth, but they refused. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/13/24 Full Review Glizzy McGuire Movie isn’t worth the price of admission. Says it’s told from the pov of the killer but only about 50% of it is. as a big horror fan i was so excited for this. even the monster design was uninspiring. only good thing was the scenery and one really cool kill scene Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
