All of Us Strangers Reviews
Fantastic, constantly made me think of my son, my wife and my parents , in the deepest and most beautiful way
Worth watching. Some of the dialogue is a little obvious. The story ultimately makes the story pointless but I guess he was going for a surreal vibe.
Beautiful and heartbreaking drama with astonishing actors
Powerful acting, but hard to follow and understand even after the film ended.
A Poignant Exploration of Orphanhood and Resilience! The enduring impact of losing parents in childhood is poignantly depicted, highlighting the lifelong journey of growth and self-discovery under the care of others.
All Of Us Strangers "All Of Us Strangers" is a profound exploration of grief and human feelings. The story follows Adam, a lonely screenwriter, who begins a relationship with his neighbor. Meanwhile, Adam also experiences vivid visions in which he reconnects with his deceased parents. The storytelling in "All Of Us Strangers" is brilliant, as it deftly navigates a multitude of themes: loss and grief, sexuality, bullying, missed opportunities, closure, loneliness, mental illness, and depression. The film intertwines a dual narrative of a budding romance and Adam's reconnection with his deceased parents. The love story gradually fosters Adam's healing, helping him confront the long-standing pain of his parents' loss. This relationship symbolizes hope, but the film delivers a gut-wrenching twist that takes it all away. The final sequence is both memorable and poignant, with a touch of beauty in the end shot, despite the surrounding pain. Adam must heal again, find hope anew, or possibly continue living through vivid visions and explorations. This is an intimate film with a small cast, and the performances are outstanding. Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, and Jamie Bell all shine, but it was Claire Foy who left a lasting impression on me. Foy's performance is nothing short of phenomenal, and her scenes with Andrew Scott are the film's highlight. I could have watched the entire movie with just the two of them. Overall, "All Of Us Strangers" is a masterfully crafted film that explores complex emotions and themes with a memorable and heartbreaking conclusion that'll linger long after the credits roll. 8.5-9/10
Poignant in some parts. Mostly a drag.
Its like Sixth sense meet Call me by your name, perfect match.
This was one of the most beautiful movies I've seen in years.
This movie is so beautiful and lovely. So sad and reflects on my life
Beautifully acted, so intimately as if confined to a stage. Another powerhouse performance by Andrew Scott with an excellent supporting cast.
Great acting, great writing. Beautiful portrayal of healing from loss
The most beautiful movie that has graced the theatres.
Seeing this film at the cinema was thrilling. I found myself in many things with the protagonist and I think I have never cried so much with any film. After leaving the cinema I had to lock myself in the bathroom out of desperation, I have never felt so empty but at the same time understood.
This was not exactly what I expected, it was much, much better. It was a rollercoaster of feelings culminating in a beautiful ending. SPOILER: Adam was able to finally depart from his parents, at their request, and grief, giving Harry the opportunity to find the love he was looking for. Performances were absolutely perfect.
Un magnifique film sur la solitude et l'amour qui ne peut que rendre le spectateur Ć©mu. La symbolique est si belle, ce film est un bijou.
Haunting and beautiful, it's been weeks since I watched it and still thinking about it.
Posting this months after watching. This film has stayed with me. All the four leads are fantastic and you feel empathy for every one of them. It's a subtle and beautiful exploration of what you might say or do if you could have the chance to meet those you've lost again. The music is perfect and the light, especially sunsets captured poignantly.
I wasn't over the moon for this one as I had hoped. Everyone's reviews were glowing especially for Andrew Scott. While I do not downplay his performance as I was completely convinced he was Adam and had some issues he was not addressing. I enjoyed the skewed timeline and his sliding back and forth between the past and the present. He carried the movie well as he dominated the screen.
Excellent. The music, the settings, the soft way in which mourning is represented. Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal pierce the screen, and together they are a poignant and emotional bomb.
