Based on the acclaimed, contemporary love story of the same name, The Idea of You centers on Solène (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old single mom who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet. When Solène must step in to chaperone her teenage daughter's trip to the Coachella Music Festival after her ex bails at the last minute, she has a chance encounter with Hayes and there is an instant, undeniable spark. Intriguing intro to movie was the reason to watch. Something like "true life story" was felt in the name. Weird beginning, bit messy, but good plot in general. Worth watching to remind ourselves what the true love is.

Not sure why people are hating on this movie. Definitely more of a commentary on ageism than the movie. Beautiful 40 year old falls in love with a 24 year old pop star. A twist on a hundred movies we’ve seen in reverse. We can love it in A Star is Born but not here? Great chemistry between the stars. Excellent exploration of the impact of social media and insane press coverage on a celebrity life. Delving into their backstories to understand their fears and hopes was powerful. The sacrifice they made to protect her daughter was a bold choice. A relationship movie with a hopeful ending. I really came away satisfied by this movie.
