Trim Season is a fun trip that wonders what would happen if Suspiria’s Helena Markos moved to a weed farm and spent her time sucking the souls from her foes while smoking a joint and drinking wine…and sometimes that’s all you need.

The highs are very high. From Badler’s commanding performance that contributes to the uneasy atmosphere Vida expertly curates to the stomach-churning sequences of body horror, there is undeniable greatness here.

It builds really good suspense and makes you wonder what is to come but reveal is too disappointing. I’m fine with supernatural ala Get Out but this just looks too ridiculous and lame. Still, good, solid 50 minutes.

This seems to be a mish-mash of ideas none of which really succeed. What starts out as an interesting premise soon degenerates into plain bloody silliness that only Jane Badler manages to rescue to some extent.

Synopsis
