      Critics Consensus

A meditation on mortality full of risky stylistic gambits, Tuesday achieves real grace thanks to Julia Louis-Dreyfus' committed performance and director Daina Oniunas-Pusic's impressive ambition.

Mark Olsen Los Angeles Times Without the power and nuance that Louis-Dreyfus brings to the role, the drama would not have nearly as much spine or impact as it does. Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune Demands and receives new and challenging things from Julia Louis-Dreyfus while announcing a formidable new filmmaker, the Croatian writer-director Daina O. Pusić. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 14, 2024 Full Review Nell Minow RogerEbert.com Like the under-seen "A Monster Calls," this movie is frank about the messiness of the emotions around death. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 14, 2024 Full Review Josh Larsen LarsenOnFilm ...has the incongruous feel of a lovely sort of last rites. Rated: 3.5/4 Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Chase Hutchinson IGN Movies Tuesday captures its most transcendent truths in its closing moments, when all is pared back and it’s just Louis-Dreyfus sitting alone after everything has gone quiet. No more rapping bird; just a portrait of the pain and poetry of life amid death. Rated: 7/10 Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views The inherent tension in “Tuesday” is how can you kill someone that you love more than yourself or allow them to die. Zora’s road trip with Tuesday makes her appreciate that death is a gift—the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reference is intentional. Jun 16, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Matt B Overly ridiculous. Didn’t even make me cry and should have been the easiest movie cry in the world. JLD is good but don’t know why she said yes to this Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review John D Very interesting way to portray death. The two stars were really good actors. I especially liked the young girl who was dying. She portrayed the role extremely well. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review David Wonderful . Dreyfus’s is fabulous as are all the supporting actors. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Vegas V This was an exercise in trying to be an artistic film but was instead a trying time for the viewer. Do not waste your time, it was horrific. I would not have even given a half star if it was not for the acting of Ms. Dreyfus. I am not a stupid person, but this was a waste of producer's money, a waste of mine, and a waste of symbolism and talent. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Marisa I wish I had done my homework before seeing this. Actually, "seeing this" is a huge stretch because I left after maybe 10 minutes. Enough. PS I saw it was an Indie film, that's why I wanted to see it but..oh well.. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Zilla Thought provoking, but also very slow. I enjoyed it but would not go see it again. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
