What is remarkable about the film is how it doesn't politicise the homosexuality theme, transcends it to become the story of two people in doomed love. The two lead characters are wonderfully delineated.

You know a movie is powerful when someone watches it and has only heard bad things, yet is crying at the end because they are so connected to the characters. That was my straight masculine boyfriends reaction. This movie had us in shambles. So sad, so good, so dramatic yet realistic.
